There's a great show in Manhattan (which has been extended for a second time) of Ray Johnson's collages. The twist: Johnson is viewed in relation to Dali and Warhol. The curator has drawn some interesting parallels between Johnson's work and Dali's and Warhol's. More importantly, the show elucidates the ways in which the three artists looked to each other for inspiration, encouragement, argument and bad-body play.
You can view the work at the Richard L. Feigen Gallery.
I saw it earlier this summer and will go again later this month. Check it out.
